The policies and guidelines detailed in this handbook are intended to aid the immortal in hir work with/for StrangeMUD and its players. Gods are expected to read, understand, and COMPLY WITH these rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse. Repeated infractions may result in demotion, deletion, or other punishments as decided upon by the StrangeMUD administration. 1. USE COMMON SENSE. If it feels wrong, it probably is. 2. All immortals may reimb players by use of the "reimb crash" command. Only 53+ may reimb single items and only if there are more than 5 items. DO NOT REIMBURSE players who have been gone long enough that the game deleted their rent file. Inactivity is NOT grounds for a reimb. If you are unsure, ask a higher god. 3. There is to be no aiding of mortals by immortals. This includes, but is NOT LIMITED TO: disclosing mob/object stats or locations, giving directions to mortals through areas, advising mortals of DTs, loading equipment for mortals, altering stats of mortals or mobs (except in cases of rerolls or quests), the grouping of mortals with high-level mobiles, or your tanking while the mortal gets the experience. (Note: giving a mortal directions or stats while in your mortal incarnation is fine. Just don't do it in your god form. Note also that using your god form to find directions you didn't know for the express purpose of disclosing them is forbidden.) 4. Do not kill mobs unless they will come right back and there is no equipment on the mob. This is only fair to the mortals. 5. Gods are not to cast spells upon mortals (including their own). The ONLY exception to this rule is the 'bless' spell, which may be cast by patron gods upon their mortal followers. 6. Gods are responsible for reporting problems, changes, and/or bugs to the appropriate beings. 7. Read the QuestManual and clear all quests with a TIN+ before running them. 8. Gods involved in creating or running a quest may NOT participate in the quest with their mortals. 9. You MAY switch into mobs to make killing them more difficult. You may NOT heal mobs, or things like that. Do NOT make them berserk or battlerage. Don't use skills or spells that are level 45+ while switched (except as approved for quest purposes). 10. The 'logentry' command is to be used by ALL GODS for any disciplinary action taken upon any player. This rule applies to ALL gods. Please also post on the bulletin board in room 1202 (the icebox) if the action is a serious one, or requires the attention of a higher level god. 11. Only TItaNs, NIMPs, and IMPlementors may multiplay. 12. Back doors in code or other scripting methods of coding within the MUD for the purposes of giving a person access to functions or information they would not otherwise have is strictly forbidden. This includes not only source code, but spec_procs, mobprogs, etc. Do it and you _will_ be severely punished (including possible deletion). This does NOT apply to accidental BUGS which have this affect (Though you should test your code thoroughly to ensure it is bug-free). 13. The immortal hierarchy serves a purpose. The order of authority is as follows: Questor, Head IMP, has final say in ALL matters. Trillian, Head of Administration, has jurisdiction of all administrative matters (discipline, clans, MUD policy, etc.). Lucifer, Head of Coding, has jurisdiction of all coding matters (balancing, adding of new skills/spells, rewriting of code, etc.). Caila, Head of Building, has jurisdiction of all building matters (area rebalancing, area implementation, building policies, etc.). 14. Problems with online actions of *any* other god are to be brought to the attention of Trillian, Head of Administration, via email to dodita@austin.rr.com, or via MUDmail. Please direct questions/comments regarding this text to Trillian or Caila. 15. Above all else, folks, remember this: You're here to have FUN. Yes, you do have responsibility, and yes, you have power, but the main point of this MUD is for you to be able to relax, let your hair down, and have a good time (within reason).
